Shiur Acher: Common questions posed by foundations

"Shiur Acher", a non-governmental organization founded in 2002, aims at promoting meaningful public involvement in the Israeli school system and sets out to bridge between working professionals from a variety of fields and underprivileged school children in all sectors of society in Israel. Shiur Acher recruits professionals from both the public and private sectors to teach extra-curricular educational courses to disadvantaged school children. This encounter with influential professionals, introduces the children to new role models, exposes them to a variety of fields of interest, and encourages them to dream and explore new horizons.
Goals:

• Promotion of equal opportunity for school children of low socio-economic status in the educational system of Israel.
• Enhancement of meaningful civic participation in the country's educational system.
• Empowerment of schools and their staff.
